Give up being wrong. There is only your truth.
Not following your instincts artistically is the only thing that’s wrong.

It’s going to be right for the part or not.
You don’t have any control over that.
Just do what excites you.

I want to show them what I want to do.  I can take adjustments, but I will be clear about the way I want to do this role.

Stop being a people pleaser, a good little actor.
You don’t have to impress them.
Your character doesn’t care what they think.

There’s safety in character. 
It’s not really you.  It’s you, that way.

Explore these human beings. 

Is she confident? Ballsy? Rude?
He apologizes. He takes responsibility.
She’s good at her job. He gives it right back.

What’s the writer telling you about everything and anything?

What’s driving your character to keep going?
If you humanize it, you’ll never be nervous again.

That’s who she is…a frightened woman. That’s what the writer wrote.

It doesn’t have to be true for the plot. It only has to be true for you.
Stay involved with your truth.

The casting director doesn’t want to watch the plot.
You don’t have to show them the scene.
They don’t care about the scene.

They want to see what you’ve brought to the table.
